Happy Patriot’s Day!

Minutemen RallyIf you are a runner, or live in the Boston area, you might know it as Marathon Monday, as the Boston Marathon happensĀ on this day every year.

One of the most galvanizing events in American history happened on this day in 1775, when the British fired on Lexington and Concord (the “shot heard ’round the world” as Ralph Waldo Emerson put it). I don’t understand how a day this important to the very founding of our nation goes unnoticed to the point most people don’t even know about it. It has been all but completely obscured by more recent events.
